Medical Certificate for Licence Exchange (Canje)
If you hold a driving licence issued outside Spain, you may be able to exchange it for a Spanish DGT licence without taking the full driving test. One of the mandatory requirements for your DGT appointment is a medical aptitude certificate (reconocimiento médico de aptitud psicofísica).
At Emedical Madrid we issue this certificate on the same visit, with free photo included. Bring it to your DGT canje appointment.
Which licences can be exchanged?
- EU/EEA licences (France, Germany, Italy, etc.) — direct exchange in most cases.
- Licences with bilateral agreement (Morocco, Ecuador, Colombia, etc.) — exchange possible, medical certificate required.
- Other third-country licences — may require driving test; medical certificate still needed.
What to bring to Emedical
- Original valid ID (NIE, passport).
- Foreign driving licence (original).
- Glasses or contact lenses if you wear them.
